How I make money while I lose weight

Over the last six months I've lost about 40 lbs and added about 5 lbs of muscle mass. People notice and they ask"What are you doing?"

I remember asking the same thing of people who I had noticed were losing weight and the answers were never what I really wanted to hear. I got all the usual responses:
  • "I cut way back on my portions" (yeah, but I LIKE food!)
  • "I spend an hour on the treadmill every morning" (I don't have an extra hour every day!)
  • "I eat only bacon, cheese, steak, and sour cream" (If I had the discipline not to eat bread I'd have the discipline to just eat smaller portions!)
  • "I gave up meat, sugar, white flour, and all forms of dietary fat" (oatmeal, yum.)
So what did I do that was different and what in the world does ANY of this have to do with growing a business?

Just this...

Last month I gave a talk in Philadelphia about how too often we focus on incomplete behavior circles. Our attitude affects our behavior, our behavior affects our self-image, and our self-image affects our attitude. We never seem to address the entire circle, but rather just parts of it. So we get people who tell us to "eat less and exercise more" (good advice), or to "recite positive affirmations about the person you wish to become" (good advice), but rarely are we exposed to the importance of completing the circle.

So how did I lose 40 lbs of fat and add five lbs of muscle? How is my answer different from all the other answers you hear?

I reprogrammed my self-image. I BECAME a different person and then the affirmations and behaviors flowed naturally and almost effortlessly. This sounds a little "fruity"maybe but think just a minute about this:

What could you do if you had all your current knowledge and skills but were also: supremely confident? If you naturally and instinctively chose healthy foods in the right portions? If you applied yourself with laser-focus to every task you attempt so that you get far more done in far less time? How would your life be different if every goal you set wasn't a chore, but seemed to unfold automatically?

Here's how I did it and if you're willing to give it a try I'll give you a free gift just for attempting it. After years of research and study in behavior modification and human development I found a company that has created one of the greatest tools for improving lives that I've come across. Simple in concept, but so amazingly researched and well thought out that it impressed me from the first time I read about it. Once I listened to the first CD I was completely convinced.

Check out this link to Reprogram Your Brain and get yourself a gift this year that will pay you back a hundred times over...10,000 times over during the next year.

Everything this company sells comes with a money back guarantee and here's what I'll do because I believe in the product so much and I want all of you to see if it doesn't work for you as well. If you spend at least $50, forward the e-mail receipt they send you to me at julian@julianfranklin.com and include your mailing address in the e-mail. I'll then send you a CD of the lecture I gave in Philly about other ways you can work to redesign your life from the inside out. You pay nothing for the CD,I'll even cover the shipping.

No matter what your goals are, you have nothing to lose and your whole life to gain.

By the way, if you are interested in just purchasing the CD of the lecture I gave in Philadelphia last month, it's available for $25 on my web site at http://www.julianspeaks.com/.

Quick question: Which program are you recommending from the Reprogram your Brain? It looks like there are a lot of audio CDs for different topics, is there a generic one that you are talking about?

The great thing about personal development is that you don't have to do the same things I'm doing. You might not need to lose weight or might not have the same issues you're dealing with as I am. You might have fears that are holding you back or just want to increase your productivity.

Whatever it is that seems to be holding YOU back, whatever goals YOU are having difficulty reaching, whatever issues seem the strongest and most pressing in YOUR life, those are the programs I would start with.

(But if you want to peek into my psyche a little bit: I started with "Time Management" (a double CD), "Eating for Excellent Health", and "Supreme Confidence")

I'm curious. Have you tried other recorded approaches? I'm working with subliminal message CDs right now, about 6 wks, and wondering if Think Right would be better, not as good, or pretty much the same. Any experience here?

I have also used subliminal tapes, but I believe the technology used by Think Right Now is superior for a few reasons.

1) There is some research that indicates subliminal message are ineffective because the ear cannot distinguish the words that are hidden under the white noise. In other words, if your ear drum is vibrating from the sounds used to camoflauge the spoken word then there would be less chance of clearly picking out the message you are attempting to assimilate.

Have you ever mis-heard the words someone said to you and recieved a much different message than the one intended? How much easier would it be for this to happen if you (a) had lots of intentional noise interfering and (b) didn't know for sure what the message was to begin with.

2)The second reason I prefer the technology used by Think Right Now is that because you are consciously hearing the words you have the opportunity to continue to reinforce the programming through self-talk and even in regular discussions.

In other words, the affirmations can become part of your daily vocabulary which makes them INFINITELY more powerful.

For more information about how this technology compares to subliminals visit www.ThinkRightNow.com. There is an article near the bottom of the first page that addresses this topic.

I'm sorry to see that you're an affiliate for this program. The tip-off was the referral code in the link address.

Knowing you get a kickback from each sale (40% I see from the affiliate agreement) makes all your high praise suspect.

In a world where we're inundated with disguised sales messages, it's important for people to take a few minutes and explore offers a little more fully.

Now I have lost trust in both you and the Think Right program.

Is the program really a worthy one?

To find out for sure, I'd have to order it and, if it's not, then go through the hassle to return it.

But now that my trust has been abused, it would be foolish to do so. The old saying, "Fool me once," comes to mind.

With much disappointment,
Aaron

Aaron,

You would not buy very much stuff if you never buy something that someone makes a profit on.
What do you drive?
Where do you eat?
What clothes do you wear?

I can understand that you might think someone would push a product because they can make a profit on it but you would have difficulty existing today if you think no one should profit off what you purchase.

As for Julian, he is an honorable man. I have known Julian for two years, both in business and as a friend. He tends to give much more value than he receives. That is one reason he is so successful at what he does. If he says something works, it works.

Hi Aaron,
I understand the frustration you have with the affiliate programs out there. Its hard to know who is selling for the sale and who is offering tools that really help. It is my opinion that Julian is not just out for a quick extra buck. I have and use many of his products and to be honest they over deliver. I figure if you take the time to read this blog and follow a link, you must be looking to improve some area of your business. To learn and grow you will have to trust someone, in my opinion Julian is one of the good guys in a business (marketing marketing concept to entertainers) that is filled with products that over promise and under deliver. Just read what he gives away here in the blog and on his site. Just my humble opinion

Aaron,

Thanks for your honest thoughts. As you can see I am a pretty upfront guy. As the moderator of this blog I could have blocked your post from being seen, but that is not my style.

I have no qualms about the fact that I make an affiliate fee from the sales of these products. If that bothers you, you can go directly to their web site and order rather than order through my affiliate link.

The fact is there are lots of products I sell and I make money on all of them. There are occasionally products that I recommend and I sometimes make money on those, but not always.

There are FAR more opportunities for me to make money on affiliate programs that I do NOT believe it, and I refuse to do that. If I don't believe in the product then I won't recommend it, no matter how much I stand to make. I believe that my value to you and other readers is in the trust I build.

I'm sorry that I've lost that trust with you and hope that I can gain it back. But if I have to promise not to make money in order to gain or keep your trust then I will have to resign that we probably won't do business together.

I am a businessman who makes money. I teach others to make money. I do it with honesty and intergrity, but I do it without apology or regret. It would be incongruent for me as a business and marketing consultant to apologize for making money or for refusing a fair business agreement in an attempt to prove my integrity.

If you go back through all the newsletters that I've sent out over the past several years you will find that MOST of them never sell ANYTHING, but rather just offer what most subscribers consider to be solid, cutting edge marketing advice.

When I occasionally stumble across something that I find to be important and relevant then I offer it. If I can add a few dollars to my bank account before Christmas when I do, then I'm just a little bit jollier!

However you can rest assured that the few dollars I make with this affiliate relationship will not impact my success this year one way or the other. I can find more money in the sofa cusions and under the car seat. You can rest assured that my decision to recommend "Think Right Now" products was based purely on the fact that they are a quality, well-researched and excellently produced product.

They make money and I'm glad because it means they will stay in business. If you apply the principles you will improve your life as well.

Aaron,
I'm going to save you some money by spending mine. I've been a faithful reader of Julian's for years mainly because his stuff works, simple as that. Julian, I read the blog, went to the website and read their materials. I've finally gotten to be at least 60 pounds overweight, or more. I bought the "I Love Exercising" program on CD. Aaron, it's important that you know I'm a huge believer in positive motivation, because I follow certain speakers plus deliver it to at risk kids in schools, yes I actually get paid for this at the same time doing magic to make my points like to street gangs. I also teach Chess to kids and have started chess clubs in several elementary schools because kids can actually go to college on chess scholarships, how many kids think they are going on an athletic one but will never make it??? My last 9 year old that I've been teaching for only 2 months, along with alot of Positive Motivation speeches, just took 1st place with a 5-0 record in his first scholastic chess tournament, But the bottom line here is this. I bought the product because Julian's word is worth GOLD. If Julian says it works then I'm willing to try it, and I will post here on my progress or failure with the program as it happens. Bill

If Julian says it's good believe it I have worked with all sort of wise guys and scamsters over the years I have been in business. Julian is a totally genuine guy and a complete gentelman. I flew from Scotland to be at his workshop last January and it cost a lot more than a few bucks for a C.D and to be honest if even knew him slightly we would not be having this little blog conversation now. If you think you need what julian is talking about buy it and get over the affiliate comission barrier as we are all intitled to make money in life he has a wonderful family and a really nice house. He would need to fill is lovely double garage full of C.D orders to make a difference to his lifestyle :). Merry Christmas and less of this bahh humbug mentality

Yes there should be no issue with someone making a commish. off a good product. Since I try everythihing and discard what doesn't work, I ordered a few items, fine...

The first thing I get from this co. before I even get the products is a liberal political message!... This is just plain DUMB on their part, no matter what your beliefs. They talk about reprogramming but many like me, wouldn't want the 'role model' they recommend following...

So now I don't trust anything else they're likely to tell me. And that's the real controversy and danger of affiliates, as you become associated with the other person/co. no matter what they say or do, which in this case is just plain FALSE!... Bob McEntee

It is all about credibility! A few years ago I flew out to Texas to see what Julian Franklin was all about. I learned so much from Julian that I returned to Texas the following year for another one of his wonderful programs. When I found out he was a speaker in Philadelphia right near me, I just had to attend. I noticed a more confident, youthful and physically fit Julian Franklin. So when I received his email recommending the new CD products, I said "Aha, that how he did it!" Quite Frankly, I would have been disappointed if Julian was NOT an affiliate and because of his credibility with me I just had to put in an order simply because I was looking to SELF IMPROVE! As a full time motivational school show performer I am always willing to learn new things and invest in my business and in my SELF! Remember, success breeds success.

One guy disagreed with your referral here? Let it roll off ya man, I wouldn't have even known about Arron or cared if you didn't make a big apologetic deal about it. Grats on the weight Julian, its my turn now! ;P

I am just now reading this post so it may be too late to "weigh in" with my opinion, but:

If Julian says it works, then it's a good product. If you've attended his workshop then you know he always delivers MORE than he promises! He is trustworthy!

Also, how can you "get around" the fact that he lost all that weight? It HAD to have worked.
